3 Tips For Your First Powerlifting Competition

Gettting ready for your first competition? Have you done all 3 of these tips already or are you risking a bad comp?
  1. Read the rule book from your powerlifting federation

The NUMBER 1 reason I see lifters bomb out or even being denied entry is not understanding and being consistent with the commands for each lifts, the technical specifications and approved equipment. Read it.

  1. Hire a handler

If you can’t get an experienced training partner or local coach to come help you out on meet day, at the VERY least, comment ATTEMPT below and I’ll send you my free attempt and warmup calculator tool so that you have one less thing to worry about for meet day.

  1. Sport form days

These are an essential part of any first meet prep. Train with heavy singles on all 3 lifts in the same day not just to get used to training all 3 lifts in one day, but also to assess each lift’s effect on the other’s performances.
